Expect baby boom and balloons soars

The Prime Minister of Singapore may think of the economic multiplying effect when he announce the various incentives for married couples to have babies... It is to replace the population, to maintain the down lines of Singapore ancestry in short.
His concerns also led to the concern of well wishers who shared the joy of the parents of their new born... there will be an estimated increase in numbers as will the case be. So, we cracked our heads to see what we can give as gifts to this new born..
The florists and gift companies had gift hampers lined up and one do not have to worry but just pay by cash or credit cards. There are arrays of goodies for new born available depending on the budget one would like to spend on.
In order not to be left behind by this baby boom, a importer had given me samples of the 2 balloons showed here; it is to be add on to a baby hamper, either it is a boy or it is a girl... you specified it and the new born parents would think that the sender is so thoughtful to be accurate. It is also not costly to be specific. These balloons with a diameter of 20cm costs only S$1.50 each. Florists who take a quantity of 30 pcs can get them at S$1.00 each. You inflate helium air or normal air into it and the balloons remains firm enough even after the mother and child are discharged from hospital. So thanks to the Prime Minister who gave us another economic life line here unknowingly.

Which reality polar bear you needs...?

Reality is what you see of the 2 white polar bears fighting it off with one another instead of the well dressed furry white polar here presenting you with a
stalk of carnation. It is only in the spirit of well wishing and love that we visualise that wild animals are domesticated to be like our faithful dog and cat who cheer us up with their attentive look. Never mind the fact then, as toy makers will be pleased to let us live out our hope with various interesting toys that communicate our love, our well wishes for whoever we intend to bless.
So you see this 18cm white furry bear with a pink bow ribbon tie around her neck, she is made with her paws stitched together, tilted her head to watch at you, so that there is enough spaces to tuck in a stalk of flower, a gift box, a thank you scroll, or whatever your creativity mind can think of. The pinkie nose also gave it a lady touch (rare because it is not a plastic nose piece but one that is stitched with threads, thus a sign of labour productive toy you are getting).
This bear can well sell at S$5.00 each which is a comparable price to bear of this height. For bulk discount above 12 pieces, please consult this blog owner at singaporegiftshop@yahoo.com. He will give you a realistic bear price.

Mini fans to the rescue on stuffy environ

It is a familiar scene under the humid sun, in a crowded gathering where we have to fan ourselves... we make do with the book, the leaflet, and even our bare palm to stoke
the little wind produced to cool our self.
Blamed it on global warming or the tropical that we lived in... Life have to go on under the sun. Inventions made with the electric fan, the air cooler and our air conditioner unit. It is another cycle of heat air being produced due to the machine generating the coolness... a cycle.
To add to these heat, I have a dry cell battery mini fan here who may make life simple for the man here, as the mini electric motor produces wind just enough to cool one's immediate environ, instead of manually fanning oneself. These can be
used to give away for events of mass participation... or you expect the crowd to make use of it at the event itself if it will to be held outdoor. Simple device but practical gift away. It costs S$1.00/each not including the battery. Some organisation even made a transparent sticker with their name on it to be pasted on. In the name of publicity, this fan worked! But... think of the carbon footprints this fan produces...

My cappy bear...

Merry makers does have good entertainment instinct and they can put a beer mug as a hat to their
head. The spirit of fun and good sport can make them an extrovert on show, beside those that are intoxicated with alcohol... I recalled past days when in the name of entertainment that I had beer and spirits too much... the morning after with the heavy head, and vomiting out of bile did really questioned myself why I pay to suffer???
We can switched to more restful deed like looking at these gentle coloured bear with a tortoise colored cap band on their head and a matching scarf. They are sweet little bears that can give away to sweet little girls as a swing along items on their bags, pouches etc. These are about 8cm in height, it costs S$2.50 each and for bulk purchases minimum of 24 pieces, the price is S$1.50. These bears could not be purchased anywhere else as it is customed made and is not a mass circulated article in the soft toy world of bear.

Top up your war chest here...

This is serious matter now as we get into armoury stuff. What the heck have these to do with a gift shop? None and yes...

The year was 1999, I was visiting this leather manufacturer in Bangladesh for the purpose to study the material they used in making their leather shoes. After the formal discussion, he showed me other leather products that their factory made... this gun holster caught my attention. I was brought back to boyhood fantasy of owning a gun holster, a real leather stuff.... Probably most boys remember the toy gun and the plastic holster and belt which you can insert the plastic bullets. I expressed my interest to possess it and he expressed surprise that I need it... probably thinking Singapore is not safe country either. I paid him US$XX for it.
The above picture showed a vinyl made holster pouching a real pistol, my picture here uses a lady mannequin for the job and does look feminine attractive. The reason I need you to see and to share with you is found at the bottom picture where I took a close-up shot and show that this holster is made from kid(young goat) leather and it is meshed woven... which means labour intensive... which means it is handmade... and a piece of art in itself. So, I think there is m
more value to it just being another holster.
As for myself, I do not have a chance to don this for service after I bought it. It will remains so and it is time that I have to part with this nice strapping to those who need it more than I do... There are many gentleman and hungo here who may be in the front line fighting crimes, terror-lipsome, or engage in paintball warfare. They may need it more than I do and at least I should let this holster served its function rather than to beautifying the mannequin...
If anyone out there is interested in this kid leather woven pistol holster which have yet to be battle proven. Email me and get ready to dispense S$140.00 for this art piece.

Rainbow for bears and marriage

These are very agile bears that evoke much feelings and actions and pensive mood as you can see in this poised shot. They are one of my favourite bear as it departed from the normal color of brown, beige, cream and white. These are made from Korean fabric and is soft, cuddly, the colors are a large pastel of pink with patches of yellow and white over. They also don a pinkish ribbon around their neck, They are flexible and thus one can manipulate them to various positions of good choice. Make a good piece to cheer up an office cubicle. It stands about 6 inches in length, and it is sold for S$5.00 only. Bulk discount are available for 24 pieces and above. Check with the owner who named them as Rainbow Bear.
Rainbow did the Prime Minister made in his national day speech to encourage Singaporeans to find their love, get married and have baby. Is there any other countries in the world that leader exalt up such subjects for the country's future sake. I believe there are but we do not seem to hear how these countries are promoting theirs. Can any readers tell and share with us?
Another great move was also the pre-emptive move to allow greater freedom of podcast, life video on political subjects, demonstration allowed at Speaker Corner. It is to prepare for the next election, to run in the situation now, to practise it for both government and opposition, to tune in the population so that when comes election years, Singaporeans become non-partisan to it; as they already seen and partake some kind of such stuff so that people will not be so climatic then.
Remember the years when they first allowed life telecasts of parliament debates responding to population's desire for blood on the arena... soon the interest faded out. The replay will be similar in this instance where government does know that pragmatic Singaporeans will soon find better entertainment than having live demonstration. It will interest only the interested and the rest of the electorate will still stick to basic platform for safe governing.

Organsa pouch bag for wedding gift

For who the wedding bells toil... There are wine, bear, favour which can be tucked into these so called organsa pouch bag. They look visibly transparent and it gives out a stylish presentation of your wedding gifts.
These bags are also tailored for wedding gift purpose with imprinted Chinese character of " Xi" which means happiness in itself, yet it is a double Xi when a couple coming together forming a Happiness uniting with another Happiness... God bless them.
It comes in both traditional red and pink colour with a golden band and strip to pull and fasten up the stuff within. As they come in 3 sizes, you can select the best size to suit your gift. I had samples of these and it does not seem to be popular as a seeming reason may be that couple may like not to have their gifts exposed. They would prefer some package that need the receiver to open up and exclaimed "AHHH... so cute..." kind of effect. Nonetheless, only certain gifts fit the bill here. Don't ask me... I think a mini key chain with the couple picture and thank you note on it can be a keepsake for the receiver. The prices for these is S$0.60; S$1.20; and S$1.60 each for the 3 sizes

Graduate for sale... in persona bear

What a day and what a picture here of graduates convocation. They ended their course of pursuit for that degree paper and begin another course of career for wages, fame, cause, politics and so forth. An interesting article in the Straits Times paper today that most graduates in Singapore do not contribute to their Alumni for they do not identify with it... thus not a emotional bond as yet. Nonetheless, what are these bear graduates for ? Whatever stuff these human graduates have with their Alma Mater is for their personal soul to sort out. These cutie 10cm tall bear are meant as a add-on gift with the certificate which some training institutes, learning centre, school are giving away to their students who passed out from their school. A symbolic act that you have muddle through their courses with your eyes closed like these bears - they are teasing you that you have done it.
A graduate comes to me and I sell her one at S$3.00/each. The school ordered 500 pieces and they paid me in a cheque of S$1000/nett. Simple mathematics, right? graduate.

A sweet heart box for her

In a pastel pink coloured hues are these interesting boxes which have an cutout heart shaped window where you can see the gift contained inside. It can be a good display box for jewellery within.
The pastel pink colour are soothing enough for any girl, the dotted little heart also peppered with shining glitters on it giving this box a dedicated look of efforted purchase. The interir is also printed with sweet heart motiff. The sizes of these boxes are about 10cm x 10cm x 9cm for the smallest size shown here; the next size is 1cm increment and so forth.
There was an occasion in November 2006 when I have an flux of request for boxes, and it was more for the year end festive giving. Various styles and sizes of boxes were imported and sold. Would share with you more once I relocate those pictures of it. People asking for all sizes of boxes but the prices for these are not attractive for the seller... like me. The rationale is that people do not think much of boxes and deem it as a simple stuff and cheap and easy to get, but actually it is quite tedious to stock boxes... they cannot be folded and therefore takes up much spaces; it can be crushed and dented at the corners and you will not want to buy it then, have to watch out for cockroaches that laid their eggs therein, yellowing of boxes especially the white one, moulding found over time due to our moisture environment.
So, you see there are very few people specialising in gift boxes sale and the prices are more than one have thought to be cheap item.
Try me, the above pieces started from S$3.50 each.... ( above problems may exist... kidding)
